PESTILENCE : The 1st Horseman by SavageSinister PESTILENCE : The 1st Horseman by SavageSinister
"And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer."

Talk about obtuse. As with the other Horsemen, this is my own take.

You have got to be my favorite artist of all time. Pestilence has got to be my favorite mythological figure of all time. Thank you for posting these (This and the other three.)

I'm not trying to be rude but this title is not correct the 1st horsemen is know as the "The Conquer" but this is where most people get this wrong the horsemen that is usually know as Pestilence is that of the 4th horsemen Death sometimes they will refer to The 4th Horsemen known Death is often referred to as Pestilence

think about this the 1st Horsemen is so often referred to as the "Anti-Christ", Jesus Christ was sent to bring peace to the world and he had many crowns but the 1st Horseman's purpose is to destroy the peace in the world and he had a crown see the similarities and they are just the opposite of each other

and the Pestilence is something that will cause instant DEATH get it

This was one of four illustrations for a book comprised of four novellas; each novella was loosely based on a horseman: Pestilence, War, Death and Famine.

In other words, it was an assignment, not a researched concept piece. ;)

Your discription suggests that this is the horseman of Conquest, not Pestillence.

MMmmmmmnope. Conceived and executed as Pestilence. Never heard of The Horseman of Conquest? Alternate biblical translation?

Originally the description was interpreted as meaning the Horseman of Conquest and the original iteration of the Horsemen is Conquest, War, Famine and Death.

Pestilence is actually the alternative interpretation, though it seems for a modern edit than an interpretation.
