Artist's Comments

For an upcoming British RPG called Pandemonium. The description I was given: "A Grave Golem is often smelt before it is seen as it carries a terrible stench of death and carrion with it. These powerful creatures can be found in abandoned, overgrown and forgotten cemeteries and consist of a collection of evil spirits combined into one lumbering monster. A Grave Golem when encountered appears as a huge hulking form consisting of moist and foul grave soil. Within its muddy body are pieces of bone, teeth, tattered clothing and other grave goods, where its face should be is a dirt encrusted skull with a permanently grinning jaw. They are corporeal in nature."

Thankee. It's funny - I used to do this kind of illustration solely in pencil because in the 90's, very few places could reproduce grayscale well. Now it's a lot more affordable, so I'm back to pencil - twice the detail and nuance in half the time! :)
